24mm is perfect for smaller nipple. This set is perfect for someone who has smaller nipples or who gets sore nipples with the standard (28 mm) set. This is an official Spectra part. Be aware that there is no teat with the bottle, you need to buy one separately. In our case, that was not a problem, as we are not using Spectra bottles (they are very simple things and tend to leak, and our baby doesn’t like the teat) but some which are compatible with the pump (wide neck bottles).

Don’t be put off by the unknown brand The spectra pump is one of the main reasons I was able to breastfeed my little one. For various reasons I had problems with feeding and my milk supply in the early days after giving birth. I was referred to an infant feeding specialist in hospital who recommended this pump to stimulate my supply. I had been using the medela pump in hospital but was horrified at the price. This is a hospital grade pump at a fraction of the price and consistently allows me to pump 4oz in 15 mins. I know all women are different but other mums in my nct group have also been delighted at the amount they can express in such a short period of time. Well worth the money and a good investment if you are planning on having more than one child.

I have to recommend this breast pump I have to recommend this breast pump, for the price it’s excellent. My little girl was born 11 weeks early and so I had to express most of that time using Medela Symphony hospital pumps, which I understand are very expensive. I bought this pump to use once my baby came home (and I had to return this hired Medela hospital pump) and wasn’t sure how well I’d get on with this pump. But it really is a great pump, and expresses milk as effectively as the more pricey Medela. The rhythm and suck took a little bit of getting used to as it is different, but there are several settings to find the one you like, and the back light is handy. It is pretty quiet although does vibrate if you have it up past the low settings. The only down side are the bottles which fall over very easily when attached via the tubing. I recommend always unhooking from the tubing once I’m done, as have spilt some precious milk in the past which is always so frustrating! All in all though I would recommend this pump if…
